SIAMS Reports

What is SIAMS?

The Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) is the national inspection framework for church schools. It explores how effective our Christian vision is in enabling pupils and adults to flourish. At St Paul’s, this means asking the big question:

“How effective is our school’s distinctive Christian vision, led by our leadership, in enabling flourishing for all?”

Our Vision in Action

Our vision — “Learning in God’s Love” — is inspired by the words of St Paul: Continue strong in the faith. Have courage and be strong. Do everything in love (1 Corinthians 16:13)
We live this out through our values of Courage, Compassion, and Community.

  • Courage – Pupils are encouraged to take risks, persevere, and stand up for what is right.

  • Compassion – We create a caring and inclusive community where every individual is valued.

  • Community – We work in partnership with families, parish, and the wider world, knowing we are stronger together.

How This Shapes School Life

Our vision and values are visible across all areas of school:

  • Curriculum – Our curriculum is designed to give children wisdom, knowledge, and skills, while reflecting our commitment to inclusivity and care for creation.

  • Character Development – Children are given opportunities to develop resilience, hope, aspiration, and courageous advocacy through initiatives such as [insert examples: e.g. eco-committee, charity projects, Forest School].

  • Collective Worship – Worship is at the heart of daily life. Led by staff, pupils, and our vicar Rev Claire Holt, worship inspires, nurtures spirituality, and reflects the seasons of the church year.

  • RE – Religious Education is taught in line with the Church of England Statement of Entitlement, giving children opportunities to explore Christianity deeply and to engage with other faiths.

  • Community Links – We have close partnerships with St Paul’s Church, Tongham, and actively contribute to the wider community.

How We Evaluate Ourselves

We regularly reflect on how our Christian vision makes a difference. We ask:

  • How does our vision shape our decisions and policies?

  • How do children and adults flourish as a result?

  • Where is our vision most visible, and where could it be strengthened?
