Welcome to St Paul's Church of England Infant School and Nursery

Welcome to St Paul's CofE Infant School & Nursery, a warm and welcoming community-focused school nestled in the heart of Tongham. Our school is dedicated to providing an ambitious and experience-rich curriculum that inspires and nurtures every child.

As a growing school with a vibrant nursery, we are committed to supporting each child's journey from their early years through to the end of their primary education. Starting in September 2025, we are excited to expand our offering by adding new KS2 year groups annually, ensuring continuity and growth for our children.

At St Paul's, we believe in the power of education to transform lives. Our dedicated staff team works tirelessly to create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We encourage curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning in all our children.

Central to our ethos is the principle of 'Learning in God's Love.' We strive to instill Christian values in our school community, fostering an environment where courage, compassion and community guide all our interactions. Our curriculum and school activities are designed to reflect these values, encouraging children to grow not only in knowledge but also in kindness and empathy.

Being at the centre of our community, we actively engage with parents, carers, and local organisations to enrich our children's educational experience. We pride ourselves on fostering strong partnerships that support the holistic development of our pupils.

We look forward to welcoming you to St Paul's CofE Infant School & Nursery, where every child is valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

    Building Update
During the archaeological dig which took place before half term, some exciting artefacts were found dating from the Bronze Age and the Romans. Due to the level of findings, a further and more extensive dig will need to take place prior to the build. Whilst an inconvenience, this doesn't cause any great issues for the project. Our plans for September 2025 will not be impacted by the delay in the building work. From September 2025 Years 1, 2 and 3 will use the 3 existing classrooms. Year R will be in a newly refurbished classroom in our Early Years area. This will be set up and ready for the stay-and-play sessions in June and July for the children to familiarise themselves.

    World Book Day
For World Book Day on Thursday 6th March we would like the children to wear fancy dress. This can be inspired by any book character, footballer, colour or princess. The children will undertake a series of World Book Day activities within school throughout the day.

    Church Service Cancelled
Dear Parent/Carer As you may be aware there is a sickness bug across school that has got progressively worse over the week. To help minimize the spread and protect as many people as possible from catching it, we have taken the very difficult decision to cancel this evening’s Carol Service. I understand this news is disappointing, however, given that St Paul’s Church is a relatively small space, we are unable to introduce adequate control measures, therefore it is unwise to continue with the Carol Service. The children have been amazing in their Christmas plays this week, we are all very proud of them and the courage they all showed. Thank you for your understanding and have a lovely Christmas. Tom
